One-on-one counselling

I offer 60-minute individual counselling sessions for those 24 years and older. I support individuals in different areas including cultural identity, emotional regulation, life transitions, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, PTSD symptoms, trauma, developmental injuries, and domestic violence and abuse. At this moment, I offer virtual appointments only.

Working with me

Free 20 minute consultation

Counselling can be an unfamiliar and intimidating process, and in order to ensure I am the right fit for you and to answer any questions or concerns you might have, I offer a free 20 minute virtual consultation prior to booking. My role is to facilitate the space where the magic of healing can happen.

I offer short- and long-term therapy depending on your needs. Let’s have a conversation and decide together what works best for you.

Pricing and insurance

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), my counselling fees qualify for reimbursement with some Extended Health Benefit Plans. If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please don't hesitate to contact me. My current rate is $140.00 (GST included) for a 50 minute individual session.

Bilingual counselling in English or Spanish

I am fluent in both English and Spanish and can provide counselling in either language.

24-hour cancellation policy

Your appointment time has been reserved just for you. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please send an email to maria@monarcatherapy.ca at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full session fee. If you are late for your session, the full fee will still be charged.

Financially accessible therapy

Financial barriers should not prevent individuals from accessing therapy. For this reason, I offer a sliding scale rate for my services for those who need it. This means that I am willing to adjust my fees based on your financial situation. I believe we all deserve access to support, and I am committed to doing my part in making this possible.
